From 17th to 19th of July 2019 IED is contributing to the ideas and talent of Sónar+D Universities Hub – along with other universities – with the project A Swarm of Corrupted Seed by Federico Russo – Master course in Visual Arts for the Digital Age, IED Milano; and SONO, by students of the Master in Interaction Design, IED Barcelona.
Positioned at the cutting edge of the electronic music landscape and its interactions with digital culture, Sónar is able to unite established artists with emerging talent, in all areas of musical and audiovisual production.
Sónar+D presents a series of activities designed to be of use to the various creative communities, providing development sessions, opportunities to exchange ideas and tools, as well as opportunities to secure financing. The goal is to facilitate and improve the relationship between creativity, technology, innovation and business in an organic setting geared towards new creative and professional profiles.
IED participates in Sónar+D Universities Hub with 2 projects:
– A Swarm of Corrupted Seed project by Federico Russo – Master course in Visual Arts for the Digital Age – IED Milano.
– SONO project by a group of students from Master course in Interaction Design – IED Barcelona.

How do we construct and explain stories? How do we use technology to improve new realities and formats? How do physical space and the virtual environment coexist? What aspects define good design in virtual worlds?
IED students will explore alongside members of ONCE possible responses to the difficulties faced by this community with relation to everyday objects.
Third IED Barcelona Master Talk 21/22
An interactive installation to create our own virtual identity and an immersive journey through a 3D “wonderland” are the proposals that IED Barcelona and IED Milan presented at the SónarCCCB 2021, driven by Sónar.
IED presents a Master course in UX Design. An innovative course also in the mode of delivery: the attendance is in fact "blended" and offers a mix of online classes and offline project activities at IED Milano and Roma's headquarters.
A project focused on the current needs of cities and their citizens, the integration of technology and respect for the environment.
IED presented the MixCities and 2020+20 projects at the extraordinary edition of Sónar+D, which took place on September 18th and 19th at the CCCB.
Due to the pandemic on 2020 the digital exhibitions took the place of the classic end-of-year physical showcases: IED has made a virtue of necessity.
