The leading manufacturer of leather and luxury fabrics will provide materials and know-how for students of Fashion, Automotive, and Interior Design courses at the Italian IED seats.

“We believe that investing in the next generation of designers is crucial. We are thrilled to collaborate with the European Institute of Design. Being able to transfer our knowledge and allow young creatives to experiment with our products is certainly a source of pride for us”.

With these words, CEO Matteo Mastrotto initiates the wide-ranging collaboration between IED and the Vicenza-based Rino Mastrotto, an international leader in the manufacture and sale of leather, fabrics and high-value-added services for high fashion, automotive, and interior design.

This collaboration aims to provide students from the Fashion Design, Shoes and Accessories Design, Product Design, Interior Design and Transportation Design courses at the IED seats in Milan, Rome, Turin, Florence and Cagliari with a variety of materials and knowledge that will assist them in developing innovative fashion, interior design, and mobility projects.

This knowledge will be made available, for academic years 23/24 and 24/25, through a programme of lessons focusing on Rino Mastrotto's main products, i.e. leather and fabrics, available for experimentation in specific workshop activities and the development of personal thesis projects.

A fundamental role in this project will also be played by “Tessitura Oreste Mariani” and “Imatex” weaving mills, which are recent additions to Rino Mastrotto thanks to the company's effort to differentiate itself. Indeed, the company now counts on an expanded portfolio of products and services, becoming an important strategic partner for luxury brands.
