From 18 to 22 March, Moritz Feed Doc, the Barcelona International Fashion Film Festival, celebrates its 10th anniversary by once again including in its programme various proposals led by the new generations of fashion designers from IED Barcelona.
On the one hand, four fashion films created by Fashion Design students will once again be screened in the official section, which this year focuses on questioning the different narratives that fashion has generated over time.
The short films by Anna Guitart (“Morriña”), Chabela Soler-Cabot (“Recreo”), Julia R. Heine (“Lunch at the Tennis Court”) and Maria Andrea Hernández (“A Tragedy”) will be shown on 19 March at 4 pm at Mooby Cinemas Bosque (Rambla de Prat, 16). These are the winning film and three finalists from the latest edition of the IED Barcelona Isabel Coixet Best Fashion Film Award, a prize presented by the prestigious filmmaker during the IED Barcelona annual fashion show, “Fashioners of the World”.
Admission is free with prior registration.
In addition, IED will take part in other initiatives within this festival, which champions fashion as a social phenomenon and a powerful tool for personal, diverse and plural expression.
Styling Slam
On 19 March at 5 pm at Casa Capell, following the round table of the day on sustainability, and as part of the festival’s parallel activities programme, Fashion Styling students will create their proposals live using garments on site.
Free admission with prior reservation, until sold out.
Fashion Manifesto: fashion takes to the streets
Social media will bring pure fashion design to the streets through an action led by IED students as part of Moritz Feed Doc. Stay tuned!
Pilar Pasamontes, an exceptional juror
Finally, one of the most notable new features of this year’s Moritz Feed Doc is the creation of an exceptional advisory committee, which will also serve as the jury for the official section, responsible for selecting the best film of this edition. Among its members, key figures from the worlds of film and fashion, stands out Pilar Pasamontes, Scientific Director of the Fashion area at IED Barcelona, who has a long-standing career linked to dissemination, curatorship and analysis within the sector.
Pasamontes will also be part of the panel of experts at the round table The Past: Is Tradition the New Language of Innovation? It will take place at Casa Capell on 19 March at 6 pm.
Free admission with prior reservation, until sold out.
The social impact of fashion through a critical lens and the exploration of aesthetics will come together at Moritz Feed Doc through the talent and creativity of our alumni and students of Fashion Design and Fashion Styling.
Don’t miss it!
