On 25 and 26 June, IED Madrid will celebrate a new edition of its Graduation Shows, the exhibition of final projects bringing together the work of students from the Fashion, Visual Arts and Design Schools. Under the concept Times New, this year’s edition invites visitors to reflect on the role of design in a constantly evolving world and to imagine new ways of creating, inhabiting and relating to one another.

Times New: IED Madrid’s 2026 Graduation Shows Explore New Ways of Designing the Future

In a context shaped by increasingly accelerated technological, social and cultural change, IED Madrid’s 2026 Graduation Shows are framed around Times New, a conceptual approach that understands design as a tool for questioning questioning established paradigms, connecting disciplines and envisioning possible futures.
Rather than conceiving design as a closed practice, Times New proposes inhabiting the spaces in between: those where different languages, technologies, realities and forms of knowledge converge. From this perspective, designing, means intervening in a changing present in order to shape new ways of being, producing and living together.
Each of IED Madrid’s schools develops this reflection through its own lens. The Fashion School does so through Times New Hybridisation, exploring hybridisation as a creative strategy to expand the boundaries of the discipline. This approach will reach its fullest expression in the traditional Avant Défilé, where students will present their final collections. The Visual Arts School presents Times New Media, an investigation into temporalities, new media and emerging forms of visual production. Meanwhile, the Design School proposes Times New Realities, an invitation to rethink spaces, objects and ways of living through design as a driver of transformation.
Over the course of two days, IED Madrid campuses will become exhibition spaces where final projects engage with the challeges and opportunities of the present, showcasing proposals that combine creativity, research, innovation and critical thinking.
