Luis de Javier developed the final creation phase for the collection with the collaboration of IED and together with a team of students and graduates from the Barcelona school
IED Barcelona alumnus Luis de Javier has made his highly anticipated debut at the Espace Niemeyer at Paris Fashion Week with a Spring/Summer 2025 collection that pays tribute to both Parisian fashion, where Haute Couture was born, and to all the Spanish designers who have shaped its history.
“I was mainly inspired by the silhouettes of Balenciaga from the 1940s, with the aim of paying tribute to the profound impact of the fashion maestro. At the same time, I wanted to celebrate my own journey, acknowledging the pure and sincere spirit of my first collection in London, which, despite my initial reservations, was a true reflection of who I was at the time. By mixing these influences, I’ve created a collection that not only respects the grandeur of my inspirations, but also embraces the evolution of my own creative identity,” explained the young designer, who trained at IED Barcelona.
It was precisely within the facilities of the Design School where Luis de Javier developed a large part of the creation process for the collection over the last few months, with the collaboration of IED and together with a team of students and graduates from the Barcelona school.
What the media says
Once again under the mentorship of Riccardo Tisci, former Creative Director of Burberry and Givenchy, Luis de Javier’s looks have captivated the fashion world. In particular, the specialised press has enthusiastically highlighted his revision of the traditional bullfighter’s hat, a key piece of Spanish folklore, in collaboration with Betto García.
The media has also highlighted the sensuality of the designs, with long, figure-hugging lycra dresses, draping, lace thongs and stockings, and fringed hats that hide the woman’s face, among others.
Congratulations to Luis and all his team!
