Students and staff from IED Barcelona collaborated with ASTE Barcelona, distributing nearly 100 roses and prints designed at the school to senior citizens at three nursing homes in the Gracia neighbourhood.

On the occasion of the Day of Sant Jordi, or Saint George, for the fourth year in a row, students and staff from IED Barcelona collaborated with ASTE Barcelona —an organisation that promotes volunteer activities among young people — on a solidary initiative bringing roses and prints designed at the school to senior citizens at three nursing homes in the Gracia neighbourhood.

The activity is part of the IED Social project, which aims to connect different generations through design, as a tool for positive social impact on the neighbourhood and its residents.

This year, IED Barcelona students and staff distributed nearly 100 flowers with their corresponding greetings, sharing a popular festival featuring books and roses as symbols of the values of culture, love, and solidarity with senior citizens.
