Students representing IED’s Milan, Rome, and Turin campuses received their prizes at the official New York City ceremony held on May 11th.

ONE SHOW: IED AWARDS IN NEW YORK

Another successful edition comes to a close with IED once again on the podium at the Young Ones Student Awards. This competition remains one of the world's premier creativity contests, hosted by The One Club for Creativity with the goal of identifying the best young international talent across various creative disciplines. The winners include students from the Milan, Rome, and Turin campuses, who collectively earned one Silver Pencil and eight Merits.

Silver Award: "Because we are clashy"

The Silver Pencil (second place) was awarded to Because we are Clashy, a response to the Clash of Clans brief (one of the world's most famous mobile games) in the Print, Promotional, and OOH category.

With the debut of its animated Netflix series in May 2025, Clash of Clans isn't just entering the streaming world, it’s aiming for a full "cultural conquest." After over a decade as a mobile gaming icon, the brand is evolving into a pillar of global entertainment. Instead of traditional promotion, the campaign adopts the game's native language: the raid. The core idea is that Clash doesn't just share space on Netflix; it invades it. The goal is to position Clash of Clans as one of the year’s most dominant IPs, proving that the game doesn't adapt to the platform, it dominates it, replicating the conquest dynamics that have made it legendary since 2012 in both the digital and physical worlds.

  • Team: Francesca Maria Loi, Marco Molina, Elena Poropat, Matilde Russotto, Federica Scalise, Marianna La Spada, Simone Seva.

  • Tutors: Lorenzo Picchiotti and Fabio Pedroni, Communication Design students at IED Milano.

Merit Awards: IED Milan, Rome, and Turin

IED Milano also secured 4 Merits:

  • "Hands Down" (Verizon brief) in the Integrated Campaign - Interactive, Online & Mobile and Print, Promotional, OOH categories.

  • "Because we are clashy" (Clash of Clans brief) in the Experiential & Immersive category.

IED Roma earned 2 Merits:

  • "Gemini Distinct" (Google/Creative Use of AI category): An AI-based plugin that transforms any webpage into a more accessible reading experience for people with dyslexia.

    • Team: Federica Barone, Giulio Ruggiero, George Leardini.

  • "Gemini Sync" (Google/Experiential & Immersive category): An AI system that improves subtitle accuracy in online videos, making educational content more accessible for the deaf and hard of hearing.

    • Team: Marianna Marchese, Matilde Sergio.

IED Torino received 1 Merit:

  • "The Purrfect Drop" (Young Ones One Show / Whiskas: Experiential & Immersive category): This project addresses the misconception that Whiskas is low-quality food. In a health-conscious market, the project shifts the focus to the most authentic indicator of a cat’s well-being: digestion. Through a provocative and ironic concept, the campaign turns a daily "taboo" act into a beauty contest celebrating "inner beauty." Owners can submit their cats' "results" to be evaluated by nutritionists, with the winner becoming the new face of Whiskas. The project features digital content, a "Purr-cast" on nutrition, and an online "Walk of Poop" as an educational archive.

    • Team: Natalia Ruberto, Caterina Carlotta Croci, Francesca Tangari, Eleonora Petiti, Marianna.
