This project investigates how Mille Collines, a brand rooted in African heritage and craftsmanship, can redefine traceability and transparency as active storytelling tools rather than just common supply chain methods.
In today’s conscious fashion landscape, consumers seek more than products — they want stories, trust and connection. What are the who’s, why’s and where’s behind your clothes? This project proposes an immersive strategy where traceability becomes an ongoing narrative: The Ubuntu Visions for Mille Collines. Highlighting the journey behind each piece, from the materials to the artisans who create them.
To bring this vision to life, several key initiatives are developed. Among them are an interactive traceability system where customers can follow each garment’s life cycle though digital platforms, website integrations, and QR-based storytelling. The project also introduces “Ubuntu Visions: Voices of Heritage”, a podcast that amplifies the voices of artisans, industry experts, and other creatives, offering a deeper insight into the brand’s values and cultural impact.
In addition, the “Beyond the Fabric” event concept is designed to foster community engagement through live discussions, immersive experiences, and workshops that connect consumers directly to the people and stories behind Mille Collines.
Ultimately, Mille Collines is reimagined as a living, emotional, and accessible narrative — one that reflects its ethical, human, and cultural values.
