Italian brands are always in search for creatives capable of blending techniques and creativity, in order to meet the growing international market demand of Made in Italy jewels and accessories. In response to this need, the Three-year course in Jewelry and Accessories Design trains designers who are able to anticipate customers desires, to produce innovative products of jewellery, bijouterie, male and female accessories and to offer companies those competencies that are necessary to keep the Made in Italy leadership alive.

Context – The Jewelry and Accessories Designers work in team, read and translate social changes into products that are innovative for the concepts behind them, materials and producing processes. They are up to date about the worlds of fashion, art, retail and about trends and market needs. They read social dynamics and are able to understand and apply the DNA of the brands they work with.

Methodology and structure – The course provides tools and techniques, cultural and practical skills that are necessary to design and produce jewels and accessories. Students learn research techniques and to develop an idea by translating it into images, words, drawings, materials and objects both physically and as 3D virtual models. They get the ability to manage projects’ communication and promotion in a coherent and efficient way, conscious of the marketing, retail, pricing, materials and production processes’ demands.

The modeling lab allows students to express their creative talent through the creation of prototypes and through the experimentation of different techniques and materials. The results consist in experimental jewelry inspired by contemporary art, commercial jewelry created in rapid prototyping, objects for exhibitions.

The continuous relation with brands during the course, allows the student to get to know the design world actively and effectively. Among the last collaborations are Roberto Cavalli, Breil, The Bridge, Cesare Paciotti.

The Three-year course in Jewelry and Accessories Design trains students to face both traditional and emerging markets.
Moreover, during the course the Institute plans a series of meeting dedicated to the portfolio composition, in order to enhance each student’s professional profile.
