Students from IED Torino and IED Barcelona challenged each other in a day of pure creativity and design, under the attentive eyes of Ferrari’s designers.

Pencils, paper, and ideas taking shape through swift sketches: the Design Sketch Battle 2025, organized by the Transportation Design course at IED Turin in collaboration with Ferrari, turned the classrooms into true laboratories of vision for one day. The chosen theme – “The Cockpit of the Future” – pushed students to explore new interpretations of interior design, testing their creativity, focus, and drawing skills without the use of digital tools or artificial intelligence.

This year, once again, a group of IED Barcelona Transportation Design students joined the competition, bringing fresh perspectives and an international outlook. A tangible example of the strength of the IED distributed campus, which fosters the exchange of cultures, ideas, and different ways of experiencing design.

Working in teams, students developed a shared concept, turning ideas and sketches into six different interpretations of a possible future. After a careful evaluation by Ferrari’s designers, the Giallo Modena team took the top spot and will have the opportunity to visit the Ferrari Factory, discovering firsthand how icons of Italian automotive design come to life.
