The students participated in the “Learn to Sketch with Frank” workshop given by renowned car designer Frank Stephenson

Accompanied by their Programme Leader, Jesús Iglesias, two 2nd-year Transportation Design students from IED Barcelona – Manuel Jesús Ramírez Pagés and Astanbek Zhyldyzbekov – travelled to the Geneva International Motor Show in late February. There, in addition to learning about the latest automotive news, they participated in the “Learn to Sketch with Frank” workshop given by Frank Stephenson, the legendary designer of iconic cars such as the Mini, Fiat 500, McLaren P1 and Ferrari 430, among others.

Ramírez and Zhyldyzbekov were two of the winners of the first IED Barcelona Transportation Sketching Marathon in 2023. An annual event organised by the design school to acknowledge the sketching work of the students, who were rewarded with this travel experience to the most important motor show in Europe.
