IED Alumni: Paul Vasileff

Paul Vasileff, Head Designer of the Australian fashion brand Paolo Sebastian, attended the Academic Year in Fashion and Textile Design at IED Milano.

Having learnt sewing by his grandmother, he has always been fascinated by craftsmanship and tailoring. Yet during his studies he collected important experiences that helped him launching his career. First he won the European Fashion Design Competition in London, his project War of Roses was awarded during the London Fashion Week and his outfit walked the catwalk in Covent Garden, under the eyes of Zandra Rhodes, Fashion Stylist known for having worked with the Queen, and Dennis Northdruft, Curator of the Fashion & Textile Museum of London. After a couple of months, he also won the Swarovski Contest, in collaboration with Condé Nast – Vogue Sposa, for the best bridal outfit.

Now he is a Couturier who takes inspiration from fairy tales to emphasize women’s body and many celebrities chose his outfits for red carpets.
