See your creative talent evolve with a range of projects in a multidisciplinary, analytical and experimental learning experience.
The Foundation Course in Global Design is an English-taught course with a dynamic, open syllabus that gives you a practical introduction to different areas of design (product design, interior design, fashion design and graphic design) in the form of projects you’ll be developing from scratch.
After finishing the course, developing your own personal project and creating your own portfolio, you’ll have the resources you need to work on every stage of the design process. On completing the course you’ll receive an IED diploma and have the necessary grounding to take an IED Barcelona Design degree course, starting in course year two.
This is a multidisciplinary, project-based course to take your first steps in the fascinating world of design.
The course consists of three modules: the first theoretical, the second practical, and a third focused on multidisciplinary projects.
The course adopts a dynamic, hands-on approach, with a focus on experimentation and critical thinking.
You’ll discover different design methodologies, projecting your creative talent in the development of innovative projects in different areas of design.
If you want to take your first steps in the world of design with a global perspective to discover which area of design you’re most interested in, which one you’re best at, and which one you want to choose as your future specialisation, this is the course for you.
It’s a course for aspiring designers who are looking for an initial introduction into the world of design, people with no previous experience, and those who already have a professional background and want to get into a more creative field.
If you’re interested in experimentation and creativity this course will more than meet your expectations, especially if you want to start your career in the world of design from a multidisciplinary perspective to leave all your options open.
The Foundation Course in Global Design gives you a grounding in the different areas of design, actively encouraging you to develop your unique creative talent and become fully autonomous.
This interdisciplinary course in the international context of IED Barcelona is a unique learning experience, and studying in the rich cultural environment of the emblematic Gracia district in Barcelona makes that experience unforgettable.
From the very first day you’ll develop projects for your professional portfolio, an excellent presentation of your creative work for future job applications or to continue your higher education.
What will you learn?
The course introduces you to the fundamentals of design with an interdisciplinary approach, and you’ll also delve into marketing applied to design, as well as the analysis and communication tools you’ll use in a design project. Last but not least, you’ll finish the course by presenting a project to put everything you’ve learnt into practice.
