IED Expands Its English-Language Offer with New Courses in Design, Fashion and Film

IED – Istituto Europeo di Design is broadening its international offer with a new range of English-taught courses. A strategic move that strengthens IED’s position as Europe’s largest design network, opening its doors to students and creative professionals from across the globe.

IED – Istituto Europeo di Design is taking a significant step forward in its internationalisation journey, substantially expanding the number of courses taught in English. Europe’s largest design network, with campuses across Italy and Spain, is welcoming entirely new English-language programmes into its curriculum while also making some of its most established courses available to an international audience for the first time.

Among the brand-new additions is the Bachelor of Arts in Art and Communication in Milan, designed for students with a creative drive and a global outlook, alongside the Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Management for the Creative Industries, now available in both Italian and English. At master’s level, four new intensive programmes launch in English: Beauty Industry Management, Fashion Merchandising and Buying, Fashion Brand Management, and International Co-production and Film Financing — each responding to the growing demand for specialist expertise in fashion and the screen industries.

The short course offer has also grown, with new English-taught Summer Courses including Film Production in Milan, and Experimental Practices in Olfactory Design and Italian Language and Creative Culture in Florence — compact yet intensive experiences particularly suited to international students.

Alongside these new additions, a number of existing programmes are now also taught in English: the Bachelor of Arts in Product Design and Jewellery Design in Rome, Cinema and Illustration in Milan, and the master’s in Design for Children in Rome.

This expansion reflects IED’s broader ambition: to build bridges across cultures, languages and creative industries, and to offer talented individuals from anywhere in the world access to world-class education at the heart of Europe’s design community.
