The mixed format of this Master's Degree in Fashion Design prepares professional fashion designers with a global, innovative, personal and interdisciplinary vision. In this course you’ll be actively encouraged to take your creative talent to new heights in brand conceptualisation, designing and developing a product, and then in the communication and subsequent distribution of your product.

 

When you finish the course you’ll have acquired a wealth of knowledge with all the tools you need to take your first steps in this dynamic professional sector, one that’s currently undergoing a full-blown revolution in every aspect of production, design and development.

Information to decide

A comprehensive course to develop your own fashion collection, covering every aspect from the initial concept to pattern-design and production.

Throughout the course, you'll learn the steps to take to create a successful fashion collection from scratch, along with the digital and representation skills most widely used in the fashion world. You’ll also learn to manage suppliers, how to go into production, and all about sales techniques. Last but not least, we’ll take an in-depth look at the workings of a design department, exploring various facets of fashion such as the luxury segment, new 3D technologies and retail.   

Online preparatory course: optional

As a student of this master’s degree course you can also take a preparatory course in which you'll learn the ins and outs of the basic tools and acquire a comprehensive understanding of the field as you develop the inherent technical and personal skills. 

Optional subjects: IED credits

In addition to the subjects in the syllabus, you can choose two of five optional subjects on themes close to the heart of every IED student. In these optional subjects you’ll learn to use the tools and acquire the skillset you need to put the finishing touches to your professional profile.

CoLAB: IED credits

To emphasise the importance of experience gained in an interdisciplinary context you’ll work with students from various courses to develop a truly unique collaborative project, with the help of leading professionals in the sector.

This course is for professionals who want to develop their creative talent in the field of fashion, specifically in design, brand conceptualisation, product development, communication and distribution.

There are two different levels:

Basic: for people with a degree or diploma in disciplines other than fashion, to be assessed on the basis of a portfolio of garments.

Advanced: for people with a degree or diploma in fashion studies.
