An overview of the context the web designer has to work in, with particular attention to the use of graphic software, will be provided so as to make the students gain the necessary knowledge and terms to develop a cultural sensitivity useful to face the technical subjects covered during the course and to use the tools provided in the following course’s units. The main communication tools currently offered by the web will be also analysed.
The course will first focus on image digitalisation and editing; the following unit is dedicated to a vector-based program with which it is possible to create titles, short texts, logos, paths and illustrations. The course will then be concluded with the study of the software for layout, pre-printing, professional printing and with a creative and design lab.
The course’s objectives are: to combine the learning of technologies with the study of specific design topics, to become autonomous in carrying out the production of the image, to be able to coordinate and manage the different working phases up to the copy and print of the image.
Students can enrol to this unit only in case of successful pass of an evaluation test, which will assess their knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator graphics software
