ONE TO ONE: THE IED ALUMNI NETWORK LAUNCHES ITS MENTORING PROJECT
THE INTERACTIVE PLATFORM NOW PROVIDES A COMPLIMENTARY SERVICE FOR IED ALUMNI WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF 10 FORMER STUDENTS WHO HAVE ACHIEVED SUCCESS IN THEIR FIELD READY TO SHARE THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE IN SERIES OF ONE TO ONE MENTORING MEETINGS ON DESIGN, FASHION, VISUAL ARTS, COMMUNICATION AND MANAGEMENT.
A program developed by Alumni for Alumni. This is the concept of One to One, the new IED Alumni Network project, the interactive networking platform that fosters constant dialogue between former students, also promoting initiatives to support start-ups, relationships with companies, job opportunities, lifelong learning . Among the projects created to allow IED Alumni to always feel part of a large international community following graduation, there is now One to One. It is a free mentoring service, led by some of the best Alumni of the European Institute of Design, now established professionals in Design, Fashion, Visual Arts, Communication and Management, Art and Restoration.
“The One-to-One project fully expresses the philosophy of IED Alumni: former students with irrefutable experience, award-winning for their activity, who make themselves available with enthusiasm and spirit of sharing, supporting other Alumni who need advice, opinions, comparison. From Alumnus to Alumnus. This is IED ”, explains Elena Sacco, Director IED Alumni Relations.
To guide the participants there will be ten mentors who will have the task of transferring knowledge, sector information and opinions to those who are at the beginning of a new career path or want to change their career or are just curious about certain subjects. Each participant will have a chance to meet with their mentor for two one-hour meetings.
The One to One mentors are: Davide Colla, Graphic Designer, Alumnus and IED Milano professor, head of 150UP that deals with content production and branding; Mariano De La Canal, graduate in Product Design at IED Madrid, Strategy lead in Propelland, a global design and engineering company; Andrea Gallo, also a former student and now a professor at the Milan branch of the European Institute of Design, co-founder with Stefano Polli of Sugo Design, a forerunner in video mapping and visual interaction design; Italo Marseglia, Fashion Designer always interested to the relationship between fashion and sustainability, IED Roma graduate and protagonist with his creations of the recent editions of the Altaroma event; Lucía Martínez Prado, Alumna from IED Madrid and creator of Break-Event, a platform created to support live music professionals, reducing uncertainty and predicting the success of their events; Marianna Poletti, who studied at IED Milano and is an expert in digital recruiting, as well as founder and CEO of the startup Just Knock, which allows companies to send ideas in place of the curriculum, and for which she has received various awards; Ankita Nandkeolyar, former student of the Master in Brand Management at IED Milano, founder of Firebrand, a consulting company in the communication field, nominated in 2020 as India’s Best Brand Design Studio; Oscar Anibal Pozuelos, Alumnus IED Madrid, Innovation Consultant and Design Strategist, who helps entrepreneurs and startuppers to transform ideas into business models; Fortuna Todisco, Illustrator and Alumna IED Milano, teacher of Digital Illustration at the Milan School of Fashion, who has collaborated with The Economist, Il Sole 24 Ore, Vanity Fair magazines; finally, Attila Veress, Alumnus and IED Milano teacher, as well as a talented young designer and winner of the Wallpaper * Design Award 2021 for a project in collaboration with starred chef Davide Oldani.
