The Master’s Course in Graphic Design - Focus on New Media at IED Firenze provides advanced professional training, with coursework based on project design methodology, technical/technological skills and constant updating on the latest market demands as a quality mark.

Over your training path, you will gain an in-depth understanding of the whole design process. Upon completion, you will be able to produce successful graphic products for both traditional media and digital platforms.

The Master’s Course in Graphic Design - Focus on New Media at IED Firenze provides a cross-cutting learning methodology where theory and technical lessons are integrated with practical exercises, both individually and as a group, with a focus also on hands-on project design workshops. 

As part of your coursework, you will study a variety of subjects falling into three main areas: basic knowledge and culture, technical/practical learning, and project design.

Cultural subjects will explore different areas of sociology, communication ethics, design history, communication, as well as project-specific techniques involved in the graphic design process. 

Subjects within the technical/practical area will introduce you to the different applications of graphic design: creating content for magazines, brochures, catalogues, advertising campaigns, as well as brand identity, packaging and multimedia products. The attention on New Media provides a focus on the areas of greatest development in the contemporary media market such as video, social media, UI/UX design e interactive design.

Subjects under the project design area will mainly cover strategic-design skills, allowing you to learn how to deal with communication projects across all steps. Your work will be based on real briefs provided by our partner companies, within the typical context of a real-life business environment.

Upon completion of your training, you will submit your Dissertation Project. This will be a great opportunity for you to put into action the knowledge and skills you have acquired along the way, showing everyone that you can be a successful Graphic Designer.

The Master’s Course in Graphic Design - Focus on New Media at IED Firenze is intended for both students with a background in Graphic Design and professionals with at least two years of experience in the areas of design, management, communications, marketing and public relations. 

If you decide to take this programme, you clearly have a strong desire to improve yourself, go beyond your limits and never settle. Choosing this Master's Course means that you are going to challenge yourself totally, learning from your mistakes. You will learn about theory and techniques to help change how people perceive a product through an image. You will also be responsible for delivering messages and content that can bring about change. Becoming a Graphic Designer means connecting with a practical type of career, where whatever you produce should also be meaningful to your target market.

Eligibility requirements for admission to this Master's Course include an undergraduate or graduate degree or equivalent qualification in any of the subject areas of planning, graphic design, architecture, design, fine arts or advertising.

With this training, you will have the opportunity to work on different kinds of projects, both individually and as a group. You will be managing a whole variety of projects simultaneously, in a perfect simulation of what happens in real working life.

With more than 10 years of experience under its belt, the Master’s Course in Graphic Design - Focus on New Media at IED Firenze has been training Graphic Designers with extensive experience in visual languages and styles. Upon completion, you will be able to interact with customers from a variety of industries as a result of the multiple skills acquired. You will be able to work as a manager of on-line/off-line communication development and carry out branding and corporate identity projects using different types of content, such as brochures, catalogues, advertising campaigns, packaging, environmental and multimedia graphics. 

You will have the opportunity to be employed as a graphic and advertising designer with companies, agencies, studios, web agencies, publishing houses, or also work on a freelance basis to cover such roles as Creative/Art Director, Brand Identity Designer, Layout Artist, and Multimedia Designer. Last but not least, you will also be able to work as a Director of Communication Strategies with companies and also with advertising and public relations agencies.
