Graphic design is a cultural and strategic discipline capable of generating imaginaries, shaping perception, and making messages memorable. It does not simply communicate; it translates values and ideas into coherent and recognizable visual identities. It is a field where sensitivity to visual culture integrates with method, research, and problem-solving skills, enabling projects to have a real and distinctive impact.

The contemporary technological and cross-media landscape has multiplied the ways of communicating and raised expectations for graphic design: visual identities are required to remain consistent across different channels, adapt quickly, and stand the test of time. In this context, the Master in Graphic Design trains Designers capable of interpreting complexity, integrating tools and data into the creative process, and developing a critical and creative vision to face the continuous challenges of the profession, while always maintaining solid design foundations.

The Master IED Firenze in Graphic Design offers advanced professional preparation, grounded in design methodology, mastery of technical and technological skills, and constant updating in response to market demands. The learning-by-doing approach is central: projects developed in collaboration with partner companies consolidate a structured and comprehensive approach to design and allow students to work with real clients, transforming briefs and constraints into coherent and replicable solutions.

The program interprets graphic design from a broad perspective, combining creative design, art direction, communication, and tools for developing creativity, with a strategic focus that ensures consistency and design integrity in line with client guidelines. Teaching dynamically combines theoretical lessons, individual and group exercises, design workshops, and technical classes, with an in-depth analysis of the applications of graphic languages — from the most traditional to the most contemporary — highlighting both content and market potential.

The program is balanced and structured into three areas.

- The methodological area provides a solid foundation through the history of visual communication, digital marketing tools, and a focus on research and trend forecasting, enabling students to read the present clearly and design with vision.

- In the design area, students develop skills in art direction and the management of integrated communication projects, strengthen operational expertise (particularly in production and layout tools), and work on branding: typography, color codes, naming, logos, and visual systems as tools to create coherent brand experiences.

- Finally, the digital design area is dedicated to the development of interactive experiences and interfaces, with attention to usability, accessibility, and inclusivity — key skills for shaping effective communication across different platforms and devices.

The result is a portfolio that demonstrates the ability to shape visual identities, campaigns, editorial projects, packaging, and online and offline communication systems, maintaining quality and consistency even in complex contexts.
